DETAILS
Protect your transmission with the high quality transmission skid plate by RCI Metalworks. Ties in seamlessly with RCI front and transfer-case skid plates or use as a stand-alone item.
The RCI transmission skid plate is the perfect option for swapping out the OEM fiber cover on EcoBoost models for a skid plate that will last and provide real protection. Made of steel or aluminum, the RCI plate provides added strength compared to the OEM fiber cover, which is prone to get water-logged and fall off. The RCI design also spans more distance, providing twice as much coverage than the partial coverage of the OEM plate.

Installed on my ’23 F150 Tremor, took about an hour because I had to cut the factory engine/front-diff skid plate to make room. I found out after the fact that there is a punch-out that you can remove to accommodate the vertical tab on the forward-skid plate, so I wasted :30 minutes. It works all the same, though.
Powder coat is thick and the steel is very strong. Not sure if it will support all the weight of the truck, but it will certainly save you a costly bill if you hit your transmission pan. Overall very satisfied, gives me confidence the next time I try something stupid.

Just installed the transmission plate and catalytic guard on my 2022 Ford F-150 and it only took me about 30 minutes in my drive way very happy the way it fit and looks.

Just installed on my 2018 Lariat Fx4. Not too bad of an install once you understand what you’re to do. Instructions from RCI are awful, lol. I looked up videos and got a better idea of what to do. Took me about 90 minutes by myself. No need for jacks or anything. Just slid under the truck and took my time. Everything fits perfectly. Much better than the fiber board. Looks great.

I purchased this stand alone transmission skid plate for my 2015 Ford F 150. I live in London Ontario Canada so it was a little pricey once you consider the exchange rate but I am very happy with my purchase. Not that anyone will be looking at it, but its looks a lot cleaner underneath the truck without that factory fibre-board that does nothing but soak up water. I’m actually surprised it did not get torn off during the winter with some of the snow drifts I drove through. I highly recommend RCI.

Just put this on my 2019 4×4 Crew Cab. Installation was a breeze. I feel much more secure with this under my transmission than that useless thing from the factory.

Just installed on my 2021 F150 FX4 Powerstroke. Had to do a slight modification to allow for oil changes with my 3.0L Powerstroke (oil drain plug is on the other side with the Powerstroke). But all in all, it fits great and offers so much better than the cheap felt cover that Ford has. Why Ford would still install a felt cover on the FX4 package is beyond me.
But great job RCI

Got the transmission plate for Christmas, thank you Santa. Just installed it on my 2018 F150 XLT FX4, 3.5L Ecoboost. Stupid fiber cover ripped when i washed underneath with power washer. Fit perfectly with factory installed engine & transfer skid plates, as other have mentioned. Install was not that bad. Just follow the directions online & jack the front end up some. Excellent quality. Love the fact that the small oil port cover is the only thing that needs removed for oil change. Wish Ford would would just buy these & put them on at factory. Good job RCI!!

Installed this after the factory fibre cover on my 2019 2.7 F150 broke off. Great product, installed easily and fit perfectly with the FX4 engine and transfer case protectors.

After the local Ford dealer “lost” my factory fiber transmission cover durring a warranty repair, I decided to not bother with a OEM replacement. I started looking around for a real skid plate and discovered the RCI transmission plate. Liking what I was seeing, I placed the order.
This morning I did the install, taking my time and making sure I understood how to connect this with my existing OEM engine and transfer case skids. I used two extra jack stands to lift the transmission plate into place and hold it there while I bolted everything together. Everything fit perfectly!
I’m super impressed with the quality of the product and feel much more secure offroad, knowing that this plate is down there protecting my oil pan and transmission.
I LOVE that there is an easily removeble port for oil changes… brilliant!
More than likely, even though I do already have the factory steel skids, I will order the rest of this system as funds allow. Its just too good not to.
Thanks for a great product RCI.

I decided to replace the OEM fiber cover after a co-worker’s fell off due to excessive snow. The RCI steel plate is much thicker than the FX4 skid plate package on my 2019 F-150. This transmission skid plate had a factory fit with the engine and transfer skid plates. I was able to do the installation myself by sliding under the vehicle and using a jack to lift and maneuver the plate into place. Hopefully future oil changes for my 3.5L Ecoboost will go easier by eliminating the need to remove the entire OEM fiber cover to drain the oil. Excellent product!
