Many Tundra and Sequoia drivers have been looking for skid plates for daily driving, overlanding, and offroad. Whether you use your vehicle for work or play, we have an option that will work for your application. RCI’s Tundra skid plates are available in two popular options:
10ga Steel– Great all-purpose protection value. These make a great upgrade whether you already have the stock skid plates, or have nothing at all. Our 10 gauge skid plates are far tougher than OEM and provide significantly more coverage.
1/4” Aluminum– Excellent all around protection for daily drivers, and much stronger than factory skid plates. Rust and corrosion resistant aluminum means they require no paint finish prior to installation. The aluminum material is substantially lighter than steel and thanks to its extra thickness it is just as strong.

I ordered this skid plate in raw aluminum since the stock one was rusting badly . It’s undoubtedly a high quality product with nice welds and a perfect fit. The oil filter access port is such a nice feature. If you need a much stronger and smarter skid plate for your truck then look no further. Highly recommended!

The fit is perfect and it’s a quality product. Easy install using a hydraulic jack to hold the plate in place. I’ll be adding the transmission and Cat plate in the near future. Perhaps RCI would look into military/veterans discounts using IDMe or anything else. Thanks RCI!

I bought the steel engine guard for my 2008 Tundra Limited. High quality, easy to install, and looks great! Engine skid plate has a door for changing the oil filter and none of the guards block access to drain oil. Changing oil was always a hassle with the stock engine skid plate because you had to remove the entire skid plate to change the oil. That’s reason enough to buy.

I have a 2017 Model
My truck came new without a skid plate of any kind, so I wanted some coverage underneath for engine so after some close inspection of the cross members and lower front support I decided to go ahead and roll the dice and purchase risking having to pay return shipping and restocking fee.
Installed today and it was absolutely perfect no problems at all. I am so glad I decided to buy.
If anyone else has a 2WD and is considering just know it will work perfectly if you have the pre -threaded holes from factory.

I have a 2012 Tundra, and always hated removing the skid plate just to change the oil . RCI skid plate is super heavy duty and has an oil filter door ( cool ) . I ordered 2 skid plates , My brother has a 2012 tundra also. Got both of them 5 days after I put in the order and installed both of them right away. Very nice ! Great looking !

I third-party’d the bare aluminum skid plate through Toytec Lifts, just FYI. Turnover was about a month. Given the current circumstances, I feel that’s fair. Anyway, the plate itself, in terms of quality, is heads and tails above the stock, non-TRD, skid plate. It’s rigid, it’s light, it’s ON THERE, the welds are really well executed… the little access port for the oil filter element is, without doubt, the most convenient thing about it. Overall, I’m in love. I only with y’all made an aluminum bumper I could pair it with. So if y’all come on with that I’ll have to do more business with y’all. Thank you!!!

Would it be too forward of me to say I love you guys (and gals)? Just finished my 5th oil change with your plate on my ’12 Tundra (I did 1 with the stock plate, that was enough). The access panel for the filter cartridge may be the greatest thing since the ignition key. I actually look forward to the oil change, now.

2019 Sequoia TRD Sport
We have had 2 Sequoias and 1 Tundra since 2008 model years. I change the oil every 3,000 miles in each vehicle. I was so tired of dropping skid plates that I did some research and found RCI offered skid plates with a trap door for oil changes.
We have a new Sequoia TRD Sport and I ordered this skid plate after quick conversations with the crew at RCI. They assured me it would fit our Sequoia. Ordering process, communication, shipping time and fit were all superb.
Definitely recommend having a buddy help you and install on a lift. Wont be easy on the ground, but could be done.
This skid is so much thicker and heavier than the stock skid it is not even comparable!

Perfect fit on my 2012 Tundra Crew Cab. Installation was straight-forward, taking maybe 30 minutes (including doing an oil + filter change). Great finish, and a serious upgrade to the OEM skid plate. The old one looks like tin foil by comparison. The access hatch for the oil filter lines up beautifully. Looking forward to no longer being annoyed by having to drop the skid plate every oil change.

Picked up the 10 gauge steel version of this for my 2011 Tundra. The plate showed up packaged very well and the box was undamaged.
Upon opening, the plate itself is very burly. I got my truck used and it didn’t come with the skid plate. While I was shopping around for a replacement I looked at both this and the stock Toyota TRD skid plate. This one looked far more substantial and the price was very competitive.
Installation was pretty easy but it helped to have a jack and piece of wood to hold one end in place while I bolted the other end up.
Looks awesome, would buy again (though I don’t know if i’d ever be able to kill this thing).
