10ga Steel– Great all-purpose protection, and the best value for the money. These make a great upgrade whether you already have the stock skid plates, or have nothing at all. Our 10 gauge skid plates are far tougher than OEM and provide significantly more coverage.

The skid plate is a beast, and it is 5 stars out of 5, honesty with lead times does leave me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I did the engine skid (which is fantastic with its oil change door) and a monster in 1/4 inch aluminum and everything lines up well, RCI did their homework on templating. The transfer case and cat guards is a massive bit of metal, and I am sleeping easier knowing that would be thieves are going to be moving on. A few tips that I learned as I was putting things on, 1) use door shims to hold the engine skid down and out of the way while sliding the trans guard up 2) with the right combination of tools, (ratcheting 9/16 ” wrench and and 11 inch flex head ratchet with a stubby 9/16 socket) you can finish tightening the rear installation bracket without having to drop it down again. While under the truck I realized the dismal state of my trucks steps, so I think I am saving up for the sliders next.

I just installed the transmission skid plate and Cat guards. I had previously installed the engine skid plate. Everything’s very well made looks great once installed. I would have to say that the instructions are terrible. they’re not even necessarily reflective of the parts that I received. I think if a person didn’t have some experience installing this sort of thing in the past would find this to be a very difficult installation. Seems crazy that in 2023 they don’t have a video on YouTube or otherwise showing how this thing is installed it would have sped things up a little bit. The craftsmanship and finish of the product is excellent and I definitely will be purchasing from them again in the future.

Top quality, and great protection. Not sure if the instructions are for a 2wd Tundra but the instructions say to install the transmission bracket on the transmission crossbeam first, slide the skid plate over the engine skid plate then bolt to the bracket. Unfortunately when you do that I was unable to attach the slid plate to the bracket on the driver’s side because the transfer case is in the way. I got passed this by installing the bracket to the transmission skid plate first then installing the whole assembly to the transmission cross beam. Other than that difficulty it is a great product.
