Let’s get a review out here for the KDSS Diff Skid. I recently installed one on my 2016 4Runner, I like the extra protection it provides but there are a few things to note. First, the skid doesn’t mount with brackets around the axle (which I was pleasantly surprised) to actually mounts to the KDSS rear sway bar. Those bolts were a real bugger to loosen up and I had to use a floor jack to press the skid into place but it fits nicely. The bolts on the front collar are a bugger to install and tighten due to limited clearance. My only complaint is the logo sticks up and partially covers the diff fill plug so you can’t get a socket on it and have to use a wrench. Luckily mine was not rusted on. I haven’t hit anything yet but expect it will hold up like the rest of my RCI skids (full aluminum and steel gas tank … which have been fully tested and beat on).
