Overall good fit. There was one spot on each guard missing powder coat, I assume where they were hung from.
My transmission plate required removal and drilling. I wish the instructions were more specific on the alignment of the guard to the transmission plate, both horizontally and vertically. The pictures in the install guide are a mix between 4Runner and Tacoma which have different shapes, in addition to some images having the ends cropped.
I feel like a simple solution would be to include a paper template matching the skid plate with general alignment guidelines. That said, the tolerances for error could have been greater than I envisioned.

Got this with a deal over the holidays with a Transmission skid plate. This will not fit with Marlin crawler gusset kit, WILL NEED to modify! Nothing a flappy disk can’t do and a beer.
Solid extra security to try to keep criminals from attempting to cut off your cats however.

Buyer beware – read the fine print about your current transmission skid plate. This only works with the current skid plate with a 2″ 90 degree side flange. I installed on the plates with the 1″ 45 degree side flange and they do not provide adequate coverage. When I inquired about the apparent problem (after installing) I was told they weren’t designed for the older skid plates and was given information on angled spacers that coudl be used to make it work – no offer to provide said spacers by RCI (poor customer service after spending lots of $$ on all the armor) 🙁 How hard would it be to offer two different designs – one for the 45 degree 1″ flange along with the current one?
Very disappointed but I guess it’s my own fault for not reading the fine print……not up to what I consider RCI standards.

Install went pretty easy. Clamped them in place before removing the transmission skid. On the passenger side, there could be another plate designed to attach to the transfer case skid for further protection.

Just bought a pair to add with my transmission skid. Overall nice quality, quality powdercoating and included hardware is stout. I would have preferred event more horizontal coverage of the cats however, just to further minimize risks of anyone trying to cut them out.
