Built with your choice of 3/16” cnc cut steel or 1/4” laser cut aluminum, this plate is custom fit to protect the front of all 4th generation 2003-2009 4Runner, GX 470, and 07-09 FJ Cruiser with premium quality, fit and finish.

Well-built and sturdy. The solid steel feels and looks good. FJ Cruiser installation was without issue and easier than the OEM aluminum skid plate. Steel skid plate – built like a tank. Install was a breeze. I don’t like aluminum. I can’t believe that there are companies that still choose to deliver a quality product at a fair price. I was on the fence about ordering any skid plate from any company due to the high prices and poor quality of everything being sold these days. RCI has my confidence in the products they sell. Looks good on my fj. Much better than cheap stock parts. Got raw aluminum but painted bronze. Glad don’t need to remove form oil changes

Just a quick note to say your bare alum. Skid plate for Gen 4 4Runner’s was an easy install and solved the V8 oil filter access issue and convenient cutout for easy access to the fumoto oil drain. Thank you for a great, well engineered product.

Ordered the black steel. High quality and beefy! Just make sure to put the nylon washers in between the skid plate and the frame at the most rear bolts.

After trying several other companies/skid plates, this was by far the best. It actually bolts on to factory mounts and took me about 30 minutes to install. This is a fantastic product and I will be buying more of RCI stuff. Also, called tech support for a quick question and the guys helped me right away and was super nice. Well done RCI!

I got the steel skid plate and the installation is pretty easy. My GX470 has a front lift with a 1″ differential drop spacer, so this makes the skid plate slightly hit the bottom of the diff mounting arm. I wish RCI would note this in the description so that anyone with a diff drop space is aware. I ended up using 4 stacked washers at the 2 middle and front mounting bolts to clear the skid plate. Maybe RCI can provide the needed spacers as a drop-down option when selecting the skid. Overall, I’m happy with the skid plate.

I have been looking to upgrade my factory skids on my 2004 V8 for a while and, after looking around, I decided on the raw aluminum engine skid and could not be more happy with my choice. I wanted to stay away from steel as our vehicle is not a rock basher and loved that these came in a quality aluminum option. This is light weight with excellent craftsmanship plus quality hardware. It was an easy swap that can be done in a few moments in the driveway. Not to mention, the raw aluminum looks pretty sharp!
