10ga Steel– Great all-purpose protection, and the best value for the money. These make a great upgrade whether you already have the stock skid plates, or have nothing at all. Our 10 gauge skid plates are far tougher than OEM and provide significantly more coverage, especially when purchased as part of our “Full Skid Plate Package”. 1/4” Aluminum– Excellent all around protection for any purpose, substantially stronger than factory skid plates, extremely corrosion resistant and cannot rust means they require no finish or paint prior to installation. The aluminum skid plates are extremely lightweight yet strong and are the premium choice if you are looking for the best strength to weight ratio, while being comparable if not holding a slight edge over the 10ga steel product line. This review is for a 2022 ecodiesel with a 33gal fuel tank and def still intact. I ordered the powdercoated aluminum plates. Most of the plates went on without any issues.. the add on mount for the transmission plate needed a little persuasion to fit in the plate.. not that big of a deal. The cross member for the transfer case was an issue. You have to temporarily remove an exhaust mount on the passenger side to get the bolt in. On the drivers side you have to move the Def tank out of the way a few inches to get the bolt in the frame. You also have to trim the shield for the tank components in order to clear the cross member. Not that big of deal, just be prepared for a little fab work. I have pictures of it if RCI wants them. Now I aired up my suspension to max height and was able to do this in the driveway. The Def tank was my biggest issue but everything went together fine and these skidplates are STOUT! As for the oil drain plug its accessible through the plate but still above the factory support that makes a big mess anyways unless you use a custom shield or funnel.. but thats on Mopar not RCI. Solid Skid plates! Packaged Well! Look Great!

The oil drain hole doesn’t line up with my drain plug meaning I’ll have to drop the transmission plate to change the oil or fashion up some type of small ramp I can prop in thereto redirect the oil. It may seem insignificant but there’s zero reason the hole couldn’t have been cut out a few inches further back for it to work… when you pay this much for any product you expect it to be made right and fit as advertised. I have a regular 5th gen Ram, no special trim or model and there’s nothing in the product description that indicates the drain hole wouldn’t line up on my truck. So potential buyers be aware of this.
